School Vision: Excellence in learning – Investment in Oracy – Strength in Inclusivity
At Laurel Lane, we believe that children need the knowledge, vocabulary and skills to understand themselves, their bodies and their relationships with others. Our RSE curriculum provides children with age-appropriate opportunities to learn about families, friendships, respectful relationships, personal boundaries, privacy, growing and changing, puberty and reproduction.
Our curriculum is underpinned by the principles of kindness, respect, safety, equality and inclusion. We recognise that every child is unique and that families come in many different forms. Children are encouraged to value and respect themselves and others, recognising that differences should be celebrated rather than judged.
Our RSE curriculum reflects the statutory requirements for Relationships Education and is carefully planned to be age-appropriate, inclusive and responsive to the needs of our pupils.
