Message from the Headteacher

LaurelLane_097Welcome to Laurel Lane Primary School’s website.  Whether you are a prospective parent, student, member of staff, parent or governor, we hope that you find the information you are looking for here.  We pride ourselves on being a warm,  friendly school that welcomes visitors and actively encourages a partnership with parents.

At Laurel Lane Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school; having been an Inclusion Centre of Excellence since 2018.  We provide a high quality, creative and challenging education within a secure, caring and happy environment, where every child experiences a sense of enjoyment and is encouraged to achieve their full potential through a love of learning.

Laurel Lane is a warm welcoming and supportive school where a great emphasis is placed on all round personal development, as well as academic progress. We strive to develop strong links with the community.  We have a close relationship with the Parish Church of St Martin’s, Church Road.  Both the school and church serve the same community and efforts are made to foster the relationship between both.

We also believe that education is a life long process and that whatever children learn at Laurel Lane will form the building blocks for the rest of their lives.  We have built a relevant and carefully constructed curriculum, which takes in to account the national requirements and the needs of our community and enables all children to develop, providing opportunities for them to achieve high standards.

Laurel Lane is part of the Frays Academy Trust along with three local Church of England Primary Schools: St Martin's, St Matthews C.E. Primary School, Cowley St Laurence C.E. Primary School and two Workingham schools, Beechwood Primary and Keep Hatch Primary School.  As part of the Academy we are able to develop high quality teaching and learning so as to give all our children the best possible opportunities in their primary education.

We are committed, as part of the vision of the Frays Academy Trust, that all children should reach their potential and achieve standards at least in line, and hopefully above national expectations.

The Pond for 2 year olds and Laurel Lane Nursery are part of Laurel Lane Primary School and the school values and ethos is continued into Laurel Lane Nursery.  We believe that the time that pupils spend in pre-school is very important and is the start of the children’s journey in education.  The curriculum is designed to enable all children to develop, providing them opportunities to achieve high standards.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website.  Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.

Thank you for visiting!
